Month one. Week one.

Dear All,

the first week of training (1/2 IM) has almost come and gone. Tomorrow I hop into the saddle for a 90 minute ride. I don't fear the length, as much as the crazy winds of Southwestern Colorado, and random dogs that come out to... greet me while I am zooming down a street.

All said, the first week has been good! I am tired at night and hungry for little snacks through out the day. We shall see what the second week, and months to come hold for me. Hopefully lots of embarasisng stories and funny pictures. Just to let all know, my race is on September 14, 2008, on the front range of Colorado.

Aside from training fro the race, I have been doing a bit of boating. Two weekends ago, I paddled down the Dolores river in a duckie (inflatable kayak) and gaped at the cliff walls and river otters. This was a special treat as the Dolores doesn't always flow due to the need to use the water elsewhere, i.e. irrigation crops to feed livestock. Ahh water management. I also got the chance to float down the San Juan river outside of Bluff UT. It was a long, sunny day. I tried my novice skills at maneuvering a Oar boat, and was humbled. Getting my left and right arms to work together was a struggle at times. My muscles used for that were also less able than I had hoped.

I think next weekend we are headed up to the Arkansas river for a bit of boating and chillin' with friends. And yes, more duckie time.

As I head into week two of training, I will keep my eyes on the prize... end-o-week pizza:-) Hope all are well, and someone can figure out how to post me a little letter.

Much love,

BK

Attempt to inform

Hello Friends, Family, Random Visitors (hopefully not creepy),

Due to severe lack of technological savvy, I now have a blog. I'm going to go with it! Hopefully this will be a good way to inform and keep up with the many good friends I have made in life, and on my journeys. All I have to do is find the time and desire to update this blog.

I hope to post updates on travels, training, life and opinions in general. For now, I don't have much to say, except I wish I was home now to bet on the ponies and drink some good Bourbon, with good friends!

All be well, and write soon so I don't feel lonely on my blog!

peace out,

Brenna
